It is Monday morning, March 20, the first official day of Microsoft's MIX06 conference at the Venetian in beautiful Las Vegas. I'm here because it's critical to our business, but also, because Microsoft sponsored a design contest with the airfare, hotel, and conference fees as part of the prize package, and I WON!!! I've been up a few hours now, sipping coffee and taking in the luxury of the suite while planning my events for the day. Last night I had the pleasure of meeting the Remix staff and other contest winners in a leisurely meeting at an exclusive restaurant (Pinot) here at the hotel. It was absolutely delightful, and I'm feeling geekier by the moment! There are a few questions I had for the Microsoft Expression Web Designer staff, which I was able to ask last night. I was surprised that the answers were not readily available, but I suppose I should not have been because my questions are very specific to the transition out of FrontPage, which is only a very minute part of the overall conference. All that said, the answers will be forthcoming by email and we will better be able to guide our customer base through the transitory period. I'll be leaving here shortly for breakfast and a day FULL of meetings (I have scheduled myself so that I will actually be booked solid from 7:00 am through 10:00 pm), and am very excited to be able to see Bill Gates in person (albeit from a distance!). Thanks and hugs to my entire family for all the support - I'm having a blast!!! See you soon! OH - PS - I remembered the camera but forgot the transfer cable, so I'll not be able to show pics until I return home. :-)
