Today is the last day of the MIX 06 conference, which has thus far been quite exciting and encouraging. Microsoft is working on streaming all the conference sessions, and we understand they will be availble for everyone within the month. Great idea, especially for those of us who were here and able to be only one place at a time!
As I mentioned in my prior blog, I neglected to bring my camera transfer cable, so can't post images from here. Donavon, however, sent me this picture (thanks, Donavon!):
Here we are, the ReMIX contest winners, at our first meeting at the Pinot in Las Vegas. Pictured, left to right, Donavon, Sandra, and me.
Donavon is a rather brilliant young man with programming skills AND design skills - something you don't come across often enough! Sandra is a lovely young (21) lady from Sweden, with a beautiful sense of design. For the record, all three of us made several entries. Thanks go out again to Scott Davis with Microsoft, who pulled the entire contest together and spent WAY more time than I expected he planned to make it a successful endeavor.
The meetings end here today at 2:45pm, but considering the duration of flights back east combined with the 3-hour time change, I was only able to get a red-eye flight, leaving at almost midnight. I'm assuming the hotel has some type accommodation for the luggage during that rather long interim period!
It's been a great experience; now I'm ready to get back home and back to work! Hugs to everyone at home! :-)
