October 29Happy Birthday to me!!!!!!!!!! What a nice, laid back day! We "took the day off!" (OK, well, you ALL know I never do THAT, sooooo... how about something more specific?) We approached the day as if it were NOT a workday, and I did only what I felt comfortable doing, NOT what I felt pressured to do!!! Cards, cards Everywhere...I came downstairs this morning, and there was a Happy Birthday banner across the first doorway I had to go through. Then, there was a card (computer printed) on the first door I passed. Then, in the next room, three cards hanging from the breakfast room table hanging light. Into the kitchen, to get my coffee, TWO cards hanging from the cabinets! I poured my coffee, and went into the front office to grab the laptop, and headed out to the deck. ANOTHER card on the french doors heading out. When I made it outside, there weren't more computer printed cards anywhere. I put my laptop on the table, opened it, and ... TWO "real" cards laying on the keyboard inside (from Richard and Kristen). How FUN! After a bit, I had paused on the computer for apparently longer than 30 seconds (I don't USE screensavers, mind you), and up pops a "Happy Birthday Honey" greeting!!! Mom and Dad called at 7:00 am, singing a lovely Happy Birthday duet over the phone, pretty much completing a lovely "by myself" morning birthday experience. I thought I'd share THAT one! |
